It was in August of 1975 when ten MG enthusiasts met at a pizza joint to start this club. The purpose of the club was established to encourage the preservation, operation and enjoyment of all MG models, to organize events for MG automobiles and their owners, and to encourage careful and skillful driving on public roadways. Members are encouraged to participate even when their MG is off the road under construction or under repair, and note that ownership of an MG is not required for membership, which totals around 125.
We meet monthly on the second Friday of every month, except December, at 7 p.m. at Stark Street Pizza (9234 SE Stark Street, Portland, OR 97216). Other regular events include monthly tech sessions, monthly car tours, the New Year’s Day tour, the annual Ladies’ High Tea, monthly Pub Nights, the annual Cecil Kimber Birthday Party, the annual Member Appreciation Picnic and the Christmas Party with the annual awards, a raffle and a live auction. Check the calendar for the current schedule. We also participate in the Portland All British Field Meet at Portland International Raceway, the largest multi-day British car event in the Americas.
